Project Outline
Our client, Onwatch plc, was tasked with providing the fire protection equipment for this multi-million pound refurbishment project carried out by Willmott Dixon.
Project Challenges
Refurbishments are usually more complicated than new builds, especially when it's a Grade 2 listed building! First opened in 1907, the Darlington Hippodrome has a tremendous amount of irreplaceable history, so it was vitally important that the risk of fire was kept to a minimum. In addition, the main site office was located in a separate building 400m down the road from the theatre - a challenge in itself.
Howler Solutions
We supplied Howler FirePosts, along with GoLink alarms complete with First Aid Assistance buttons. In addition, the building was protected with wireless heat detectors.
As mentioned, one challenge was the remote location of the control panel - the Howler GoLink system coped well - as expected!
